My story

I was born and raised in the highlands in the Philippines where nature was all around us and well within reach from our doorsteps. Having lived in a mountainous region, I have developed the passion for exploring, hiking and running. However, for the past 10 years, I suffered from SVT's which have hindered me from being able to fully live an active lifestyle and has led to several visits to the A&E.

In January of 2022, I have undergone an ablation procedure at St. Peter's Hospital Cath Lab. Everyone from the outpatient in Ashford Hospital to the recovery staff at St. Peter's have all been very helpful and treated all their patients with kindness and respect.

Fast forward to the present, I am now joining marathons and hiking the tallest mountains in the UK without suffering from shortness of breath, chest pain or tachycardia. This is me beginning my life again.

ASPH has been instrumental in changing the lives of their patients and even with the challenges of the modern world, it keeps on innovating to keep up with the demands of providing safe and efficient patient care.

I have been a patient and I know how even just the small things such as the reassuring smile from the staff and the professionalism they show help alleviate a patient's anxiety. I also work in the Theatres and helped recover patients who have undergone colorectal procedures through robotics, and the benefits of these innovations are evident.

In line with this, I would like to ask for your help. Help me in giving back to all the hard-working staff of ASPH for all their efforts in maintaining high standards of care and maintaining morale even with the struggles they are facing. Help me contribute to the improvement of our hospital and in turn better services for everyone. Let us help many others begin again.
